GRAND  ISLAND  JUNIOR  VIKINGS

 MEETING MINUTES

MAY 26, 2009

 

OPENING:

 

President  Mike Mosher  called  the meeting to order at 8:30pm in the  Nike  Base  Equipment  Room.

ROLL CALL:

The Board Members present were:  Mike Mosher, Ken Genova, Sean Muggli, Scott Buzby, Shirley Marsh, Reine Akers.  Also, present was Todd Brandon.

APPROVAL  OF MINUTES:

The April minutes were distributed and motion to approve by Shirley and second by Ken.

TREASURER’S REPORT:

Sean distributed budget and current balance on books is $15,636,25. Motion to approve by  Scott and second by Ken.

COMMISSIONER’S REPORT:

Per Scott a website by Dick’s; Cleat date for Grand Island he will get. No byes this year. Coaches clinic for both Football and Cheerleading Sat. June 20th.  Head Coaches and Referees to meet Wed. July 15th.  Discussed the start/end season, possibly start 8/29 and tournaments 8/16, 8/22 and 8/23, skip Labor Day.  Franchise fees $75 per team due in July and insurance due July 1st.  Cheerleading NYFL coordination?? Possible home game at Bills stadium practice field FYI.  Possibility of our home games to be played on Saturdays instead of Sundays. Rosters due 2 weeks before 1st game.

CONCESSION STAND COORDINATOR’S REPORT:

Per Shirley, she is purchasing a permanent Bee keeper and grill cleaner; Will order the cooler for meat and purchase the cart to aid with items needed…We need to write a letter to the Chief requesting  medics to be on – hand.

FUNDRAISER REPORT:

Per Mike, Grande wants to present to us and he suggested that we have game sponsors for about $150. Per Reine, Mallwitz is sponsoring a tournament game and working with us to do a kick-off party, per Ken the Brick Oven has also said they would sponsor a tournament game.

 

 

 

BY-LAW: 

There have been changes made which can be viewed on the website as follows: Article V Section 10 unanimous yes, Article IX Section 9 unanimous yes, Article XI Section 6 unanimous yes. Effective June 1,2009.

FIELD COMMITTEE:

There’s a possibility that we may need an announcer, Greg Grenda possibly for a few games for the 135.
